We’re Here to Help: Safe Collections and Deliveries with Menulog
on December 21, 2020 in COVID-19

As we work together during this uncertain time, we wanted to let you know what we’re doing to help keep everyone safe amid the current COVID-19 situation in Greater Sydney.

Contact-free Collections and Deliveries

All orders on the Menulog network are contact-free by default, aiming to help people keep the Government-recommended social distance.

A reminder has been sent to all Menulog couriers on how they can ensure all Menulog collections and deliveries are made contact free. Local customers have also been sent guidance on how to maintain social distance when collecting an order.

For restaurant partners, we recommend:

  • When a customer or courier arrives at your restaurant, have them identify the order they are collecting and step a safe distance from the counter
  • Place the order on the counter or a table and stand back at a safe distance
  • The customer or courier should then collect the order without coming within 1.5m

For those partners with their own drivers, please instruct drivers to:

  • Leave the customer’s order at the door or the location requested on your device print out and step back a safe distance
  • Knock, ring the bell or alert the customer as requested – do not leave the order until you sight the customer and they collect their food

Restaurant Support Amid Updated Restrictions

Northern Beaches

A ‘Stay at Home’ order has been issued for the Northern Beaches until Wednesday 23 December 2020.  This means restaurants on the Northern Beaches are required to close for dine in, however can remain open for pick up and delivery. Read about restrictions for the Northern Beaches here

Greater Sydney

Restaurants can remain open however have reduced capacity for dine in. Read about restrictions for Greater Sydney here

In order to help keep orders coming in for restaurants impacted, we’ve launched several Menulog-funded vouchering campaigns that offer customers discounts and aim to drive repeat customers by rewarding multiple orders. These programs will run throughout December and into January.

 Wearing face masks

The NSW Government recommends wearing a mask in a number of situations, including where physical distance is not possible or when working in a restaurant, cafe or other high risk indoor areas. We strongly encourage all restaurant and courier partners to follow this advice.

If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to contact us via [email protected].
