Supporting Restaurants Throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic
on April 21, 2020 in COVID-19

The health and safety of everyone in the Menulog community – restaurants, couriers and customers remains our utmost top priority. As we work to find our new ‘normal’, Menulog announced a number of support initiatives for restaurant partners, in line with Government announcements regarding COVID-19 that meant the change in operation for many of our partners.

One of these initiatives was the reduction in commission for collection orders, which was in place for over a month, during a crucial time of change for the hospitality industry. We launched our collection commission decrease more than a month ago now and are proud to share we have enabled restaurants to keep almost half a million dollars in their businesses through this initiative.

While this has now come to a close, we will continue to support you through continued initiatives such as:

  • $3 million investment in marketing for restaurants
We have launched a large-scale local marketing initiative to let customers know you are still open for pickup and delivery. We will continue to invest in more marketing to drive as much business for you as possible during this time.
  • Ongoing partnership with Restaurant & Catering
We continue to work very closely with R&CA and have invested to help them advocate for restaurants and the broader hospitality industry during this difficult time.
  • Free tamper-proof bag seals
We will continue to provide free tamper-proof seals to all restaurant partners via the Menulog Store, to help keep everyone safe.

We have launched several other initiatives to support our couriers, customers and the community. Initiatives, such Contact-free collections and deliveries and the Exceptional Financial Support Payments for couriers, will also help ensure people feel confident to continue to engage with the Menulog network and facilitate orders for our restaurant partners.

Restaurants will continue to receive ongoing updates from Menulog, as well as reminders via email, SMS and online partner portals with tips on boosting hygiene and safety to help protect our community during this time.
