As the official sponsor of Burgapalooza, the biggest burger festival in the Southern Hemisphere, Menulog was proud to again support festival vendors and Menulog Restaurant Partners ‘Down N’ Out’, Soul Burger, Ume Burger and Superior Burger with the epic two-day festival. More than 10,000 burger-lovers descended on Prince Alfred Square Park in Parramatta on the 22nd and 23rd of September, with 10 burger vendors serving up their signature burgers to Sydneysiders.
Menulog provided a much needed, ‘chill out’ space to provide hungry customers at the festival the ultimate zone to take a breather, digest and refresh. The partnership between Burgapalooza and Menulog was announced to media a few weeks prior to the event, reaching more than 7.6 million Australians across outlets such as SBS Food, Broadsheet Sydney and the KIIS radio network.
This not only helped raise awareness of the festival and its vendors, but generated talkability around the gastronomical trend for new and exciting burger flavours. As noted in Menulog’s Insatiable App-etite Report , burgers are one of the most popular cuisines in Australia. Between 2013 and 2016, there was a mammoth 500% growth in burger orders and delivery choices available to Australians continue to grow.
30 Menulog team members worked across the weekend greeting customers, handing out Menulog vouchers and gifting people with Menulog branded merchandise. This included 2000 inflatables, 1000 hats and 2000 blankets. 35 journalists and food bloggers were also hosted in our Menulog marquee, who later helped share the news that 5 festival-exclusive burgers were available to order on Menulog as limited edition delivery-only items! This not only helped generate awareness and drive additional orders to our Menulog Restaurant Partners but also kept the conversation going about burgers offered on Menulog well after the event.
