To celebrate International Bacon Day on 31 August, Menulog partnered with Hungry Jack’s, Red Rooster and Pizza Hut to provide special offers to Menulog customers. Using national data, we demonstrated how the nation’s love affair with bacon has continued to sizzle – from the classic Meat Lovers pizza to heavily layered bacon burgers, it seems like Aussies can’t get enough pork on their fork!
Data revealed that close to half a million more bacon dishes were ordered in the past 12 months, with Victoria taking out the title of ‘most bacon orders made on Menulog’ – a title the state takes out for the second year running, with nearly half of all bacon orders being delivered to Victorians. At a close second is New South Wales, making up one in three bacon orders on Menulog.
The five suburbs that topped the list in bacon orders across each state over the last 12 months include:
- Frankston (VIC) saw more than 22,000 bacon orders, with local restaurant favourites being T-mans Pizza and Victoria’s Pizza & Beyond
- Penrith (NSW) ordered more than 18,000 bacon items, with local restaurant favourites being Vespa Pizzeria and Nepean Pizza
- Morphett Vale (SA) saw more than 6,000 bacon orders, with local restaurant favourites being Hilltop Pizzeria and Bella Pizza
- Alkimos (WA) saw more than 6,000 bacon orders, with local restaurant favourites being Alkimos Pizza and Perfect Pizza
- Caboolture (QLD) more than 6,000 bacon orders, with local restaurant favourites being Pizza In A Hurry and Carlos Naples Pizza
Sharing the offers from Hungry Jack’s Pizza Hut and Red Rooster, the national data that we pulled form the past year, and a list of where to get delicious bacon dishes from across the country from various Menulog restaurants, we secured national media coverage in media outlets such as Herald Sun!
Bacon Month has been shared via EDMs, social posts and via media channels and will be running during the month of September, ending on 30 September 2019.
